Mandaluyong City Provides Fresh Vegetables as Healthy Alternatives in Food Packs

The Mandaluyong City Government began distributing grocery packs to its constituents earlier this week. They plan to distribute a total of 100,000 food packs to its less fortunate residents over the course of a month.

Aside from the usual canned goods and basic food items, the local government unit will also be sending fresh produce to households in need.

The Mandaluyong City Public Information Office recently posted a few photos on their Facebook page showing the procured vegetables being sorted and packed for Mandaluyong citizens.

“With Mayor Menchie Abalos aiming for the food supplies delivered to our homes to be healthier, we contacted our sister cities to import fresh vegetables,” the caption explains. “The new arrivals of fresh vegetables from Nueva Ecija will be delivered with grocery packs to our less fortunate neighborhoods so they can prepare healthier meals.”

It continues: “In the coming days, we hope that more vegetables will come from our other sister cities to help us. We also help them in return by buying their products.”

“Because the types and quantities of fallen and imported vegetables are not the same, there are times when your food supplies will have vegetables and sometimes it will have none. It depends on the availability of supplies coming to the city. So we ask for your understanding,” it concludes.
