When in Manila, there are times that you’d simply want to escape from the taxing demands of your job or the mundane rhythm of life. Â When that happens, there’s one very tranquil place in which you can take refuge. Â Nothing beats an afternoon of pampering in LeSpa at Sofitel Philippine Plaza — the most luxurious haven in Manila. Â
Â
LeSpa at Sofitel is a wellness sanctuary nestled in the Plaza level of Sofitel Philippine Plaza. Â It’s just a few steps away from the lush landscaped garden Sofitel Philippine Plaza takes pride in. When I got to LeSpa, I immediately felt relaxed as I was embraced by the earth-tone hallway with rows of cushioned sofas and layers of pillows. Â
Â
Â
As I waited for my Filipino Pride treatment in LeSpa at Sofitel, a pleasant lady served me a pot of Mango Berry Tea.  This tea has a tropical blend of mango, strawberry, and raspberry.  It was indeed a sweet refreshing way to start my hour in heaven.
Â
Â
After savoring my last drop of tea, I was asked to fill up the Reservation and Customer Information Card. Â This card records the client’s contact details, health history and treatment record. Â Â I guess it’s LeSpa’s way to know me and provide the best treatment suitable for me. Â
Â
Â
After filling out the card, I was led to one of the most luxurious rooms I’ve seen in my entire life.  It was actually my first time to see a private steam room, a tempting free-standing bathtub, a couple of clean massage tables and some cushioned seats all in one room.  (This Le Spa at Sofitel‘s treatment room can actually be a good benchmark for a dream house.  Pin it now on your Pinterest board.)  Oh, how I wish to go back there and unwind in that tub filled with bubbles all day long. Â
Â
Â
What I got to try was an hour of Filipino Pride (Php 3,070) that delightfully combines Swedish, Shiatsu, Thai and reflexology massages. Â According to LeSpa at Sofitel, this is a great traditional treatment to relieve muscle tension and re-energize after strenuous sports activities. Â I applaud my therapist, Carol, for the extremely relaxing massage. Â I’ve tried several other massages throughout the years. Â Some left me a couple of bruises. Â Others tickled me to no end. Â But Carol was able to adjust the pressure perfectly to my taste. Â Â
I’m not sure if it was Carol’s kneading technique or the floral aroma in the room, but the whole experience took me on a sensuous journey to some place with a wide bed of green grass and a flowing clear serene river.Â
Â
Â
My Pinoy Pride treatment ended with two sticks of cool tropical fruits dipped in cream. Â Yum!
Â
Once you’ve decided to take time off to pamper yourself, have it in LeSpa at Sofitel, the ultimate luxury and serenity spa when in Manila!
