Lea Salonga may not be a stranger to fake Facebook accounts trying to mimic her, but frequency doesn’t make it any more pleasant when it happens. Especially not when the impersonating accounts have malicious intent. This time, Lea Salonga cautions her fans, family, and friends against another account taking on her identity to con people out of their money.

She posted on her Facebook page:
It has come to my attention that someone has been using my name and profile picture to solicit money from my fans. I would never do that, ever. Not in a million years.
If you’ve received a message from someone using my name asking for money, report and block. Thank you.
By the way, I’ve seen a sampling of the messages. My God, talk about murder of the English language.
Some screenshots of the messages sent by the fake account in the comments section of Lea’s post show that the approach of the supposed scammer is to ask for “help” with “property documents”.

While this individual may not have fallen for the ruse, it is still possible for others to do so. These screenshots were sent out in order to warn others who may be fooled into actually donating money. It is very important to the victims that word might be spread in order to prevent that.
What do you think about this?
