It’s been six years since Glee star Cory Monteith passed from an accidental drug overdose and each year continues to be honored by co-star Lea Michele. The two met on the set of Glee in 2009 and began dating in 2012 until his untimely death in 2013. She, and fellow Glee co-stars Jenna Ushkowitz and Amber Riley, took to social media to honor his memory.

As a call back to her message for Cory on the 5th anniversary of his death, Lea posted a photo of the sea and the horizon on her Twitter account. Last year she wrote: “There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.” This year, she continued the sentiment by saying: “The light always remains.”

While Jenna Ushkowitz, Glee’s Tina, had a nostalgic snap of Cory and simply said: “Miss you, pal.” Fellow Glee alum Heather Morris commented on the same post: “Missing him a lot lately.”

It is easily evident that no matter how many years pass, Cory continues to live on in the hearts of those who he left behind. From friends to family, and even his fans, it is obvious he was able to make a mark in their lives.
