On July 3, the Department of Tourism (DOT) conferred the honor on the nation’s girl group, officially appointing them as the country’s tourism ambassadors.
Earlier this week, Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay announced that the department had tapped two P-pop groups for the role, saying that Filipino artists can showcase the best of the Philippines through their achievements.
Consisting of members Aiah, Maloi, Mikha, Jhoanna, Colet, Sheena, Stacey, and Gwen,, BINI catapulted into mainstream success following the release of their chart-topping hits”Pantropiko” and “Salamin Salamin.”
Deemed the Nation’s Girl Group for their sold-out concerts, back-to-back hits, and their impact on Philippine pop music, the phenomenal P-pop group continued to soar to greater heights. In 2026 alone, they became the first homegrown Filipino and P-pop act to perform at the Coachella Music Festival, and they also brought Filipino music to the global stage as they became this year’s Billboard Women in Music Global Force awardees.
Congratulations, BINI!
