Korean girl group Apink joined the roster of talented performers who made MTV Music Evolution 2016 possible. Chorong, Eunji, Bomi, Naeun, Namjoo, and Hayoung were all thrilled to finally meet their fans in the Philippines.

During their interview at Sofitel, the girls talked about how excited they were to perform at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. They gushed, “It’s an honor for us to be here. It’s our first time to meet our fans.”

Naeun also expressed her shock to see how many fans they have in the Philippines. She continued, “We’re so happy that a lot of you guys came to see us.”

The group also admitted how much they want to go back to the country for a another show. However, it might take a while for the girls to hold a solo concert and a full-blown tour. Leader Chorong explained, “We will be releasing our next album first before we can have a concert in Korea. You guys will have to wait a little bit more as we are preparing a lot of songs.”

Singer-actress Eunji expounded, “We’re doing our best for our fans, but you guys have to wait a little bit longer.”

The girls were the fourth group to perform, preceded by the father and son duo Gary V. and Gab Valenciano, reel and real life lover James Reid and Nadine Lustre, and American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha.

APink opened their stage with their heart-wrenching song “Remember.” They also sang their hit songs, “Mr. Chu,” “Attached to You,” and “NoNoNo.”

During their spiel, Eunji made sure to relay their gratitude to the Pink Pandas (fanclub name) who patiently waited for them. She said, “It was an honor to perform for the first time in the Philippines. It was so great!” Naeun added, “I hope you guys are having a wonderful night.”

Fans also did various fan projects at the mosh pit area of the venue. Pink Pandas went around and asked questions about the girls, and the one with the right answer got an Apink item for free!

Apink stayed bubbly and energetic until the end. The girls wrapped up their short but sweet set with their last song, which is also one of my favorites, “LUV.” I can’t wait for them to come back!
