After having filed for a divorce with her husband of over 7 years, Kim Kardashian can now finally call herself a single woman.
Kim’s separation from Kanye West, now known as Ye, was officially finalized on a court hearing on Wednesday, March 2, as the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge approved the end of the marriage to which Ye’s lawyer reportedly did not object to. The judge had also granted one of the three conditions that Ye’s lawyer had outlined in his behalf which was the right to be reimbursed money that was supposed to be divided between them in case either of them die.
The finalization of the divorce comes a year after Kim had filed for it citing “irreconcilable differences.” Their marital strife seemingly began when Ye, who notably suffers from bipolar disorder, had ran for president of the United States back in 2020 during which he made shocking revelations about his family and accused Kim and her mother, Kris, of trying to lock him up. They had also spent some time apart, with Kim staying in their home in Calabasas while Ye stayed in his ranch in Wyoming.
Amid divorce proceedings, Kim entered a relationship with “Saturday Night Life” star Pete Davidson while Ye also briefly dated other people. In the recent months, however, Ye began to publicly beg for Kim to come back to him and made disparaging statements about Pete.
This had been Kim’s third marriage and Ye’s first. The couple share four children whom they will reportedly co-parent: eight-year-old daughter North, six-year-old son Saint, four-year-old daughter Chicago, and two-year-old son Psalm.
