In a series of Instagram stories, Kate addressed the recent “breakup rumors,” acknowledging that their silence had caused confusion and speculation among the public. She also expressed her gratitude to those who have supported them throughout their journey as a couple.

“We want to acknowledge the confusion and speculation caused by our silence and recent changes online. We understand that this has led to various conclusions. This was never our intention,” she began.
“Following considerable thought, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways,” she added.
The actress explained that the split was a “mutual decision,” and is very much-needed for their personal growth.
She also asserted that there is “no bitterness” between them.
“There is no bitterness between us, only gratitude for what we shared and hope for what lies ahead. We kindly ask for your understanding and respect as we move forward separately,” she wrote.
“We also hope for kindness and understanding from everyone. We respectfully ask that there be no hate or hurtful words. Let us choose empathy, respect, and compassion for all involved.”
Eagle-eyed netizens noticed that the 25-year-old actress unfollowed the “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso” alum on Instagram.
Kate Valdez and Fumiya Sankai publicly confirmed their relationship in June 2024.
