It’s a reunion fans didn’t see coming, but are already buzzing about—Julia Barretto is officially set to work with Enrique Gil again after more than a decade.

The two first teamed up back in 2014 for the fantasy-romance drama Mirabella, which also marked Julia’s first lead role.
Fast forward to 2025, the 28-year-old actress is reuniting with Enrique for a brand-new series under the direction of award-winning filmmaker Antonette Jadaone.
“Excited ako. Na-pitch ito sa akin, I guess one year ago na rin. And I’m really excited that Enrique is on board because the last time na nagkatrabaho kami ni Quen was in Mirabella. I was 16, 17 years old. So that was in 2014, more than a decade ago. So I’m excited for this reunion series and I’m really looking forward to working with Quen again,” Julia shared during the Maya Black launch event in Makati City.

Aside from acting, Julia has also been making waves as a guest host on Eat Bulaga!—something she says has allowed her to showcase a more fun and outgoing side of herself.
“I am so happy and very grateful na napasama ako sa celebration nila. They really are such a strong family. Grabe ‘yung bond nila. So to even be invited sa ginagawa nila araw-araw, lalo na nung nag-celebrate sila ng 46 years, it really means a lot to me,” she said.
She also revealed how the show encourages her to let loose. “It just pays to be yourself, to be funny, to be weird. It’s a space where everything is allowed as long as it’s something good and fun and of support sa isa’t isa. Grateful lang ako na nakakapag-guest ako kahit na twice or once a week. I really get excited,” Julia shared.
A fresh start for Julia and Quen
With Enrique returning to the spotlight and Julia embracing new opportunities, their upcoming reunion project is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated teleseryes of 2025.
Fans of Mirabella are definitely in for a nostalgic treat—this time with a fresh story, a seasoned director, and two stars ready to bring new magic to the screen.
