Joining the internationally acclaimed Filipino roster of the production of “Here Lies Love” is Jo Koy! The Filipino-American stand-up comedian is now one of the producers of the upcoming Imelda Marcos-inspired Broadway musical along with Lea Salonga and H.E.R.

“Hey, guys! I just wanted you to know just how excited I am to be making my Broadway-producing debut with a groundbreaking Broadway musical, ‘Here Lies Love’,” he said in a recently posted Instagram Reel. “For the first time in Broadway history, the musical star, an all-Filipino cast, telling a Filipino story–the People Power Revolution! I’m so thrilled to support this historic musical and join a historic number of Filipino producers including Lea Salonga and H.E.R.”

“Now, previews start this weekend, June 17th, and opening night is July 20th,” he teased. “So go on herelieslovebroadway.com and get your tickets today, and I’ll see you all on the dance floor!” This first-of-a-kind musical boasts an immersive experience, turning the Broadway Theatre into a dance club to portray the “Imeldific” life of the former First Lady as conceptualized by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim who also did the music and lyrics.
Salonga commented on one of Jo Koy’s posts where he made the announcement, “Welcome to the show, Joseph!” Meanwhile, H.E.R. (Gabrielle Wilson) commented, “GALING!!!!!!!!!”

Salonga is also one of the cast members of “Here Lies Love” alongside Arielle Jacobs, Jose Llana, and Conrad Ricamora.
