“Sa Aking Puso” finally got its much-awaited revival!

Young singer and actor Dylan Menor put his own spin on the beloved Ariel Rivera classic, which was composed by acclaimed songwriter Vehnee Saturno.
However, Vehnee was not initially acknowledged as the song’s composer. While both sides have since reached out to each other, here’s a quick explainer that lays out both sides of the story.
Vehnee’s Side
During the televised launch of Dylan’s “Sa Aking Puso” cover, Vehnee expressed his frustrations after the original singer was acknowledged, but he was not mentioned as the song’s composer.

Later, a representative from the TV network reached out to the singer-songwriter and apologized for what happened during the launch.
“This won’t happen again po because we deeply respect all OPM musikeros po,” the message read.
Vehnee accepted the apology and expressed his gratitude to everyone who continues to support and uplift OPM.
“Let’s finish the issue about Sa Aking Puso of Dylan Menor,” he captioned in a Facebook post. “Case Closed. Salamat Po sa lahat who are willing to help uplift OPM.”
Dylan’s Side
Dylan, who covered “Sa Aking Puso,” shared that he has personally reached out to Vehnee and expressed his gratitude for giving him the opportunity to bring his own style to the song while respecting the original version.

“I have so much respect and gratitude for Sir Vehnee, not only as the composer of the song but also as the producer for my version. I’ve already reached out to him personally to thank him for this opportunity. I truly appreciate the trust he gave me,” Dylan said.
Through his “Sa Aking Puso” cover, the young singer aims to reintroduce the iconic OPM love song to the new generation.
Apart from the cover, the singer-actor is set to mark a new career milestone with his upcoming concert titled “D-Day.” The concert will take off on October 13 at the Music Museum.
“I’m grateful for everyone who continues to believe in me and my music. I’m thankful to Universal Records, Stages Talents, and MQuest Music for their support and for helping me grow as an artist. I’m excited for the concert and for everything that’s ahead,” he said.
