Halloween may be over, but the fun, chaos, and frights of “spooky season” are far from done. Even in November, we still can’t get over the local and international scene-stealers who made the most out of this year’s Halloween festivities.
Throughout the past week, we witnessed Filipino celebrities transform into various fictional characters, artists, scary creatures, and even pop culture icons and memes. Some of them owned the red carpet at Mond Gutierrez’s The New Nocturnals ball, while others lit up the dance floor at Tim Yap’s Shake, Rattle, and Ball.

These Filipino celebrities brought their A-game to Halloween this year. Here’s a look back on their witty, imaginative, and drop-dead gorgeous costumes:
Andrea Brillantes as a Black Cat

Andrea Brillantes’s Halloween costumes never miss. At The New Nocturnals, she pushed the envelope once again as a black cat—a complete head-to-toe transformation that had our jaws on the floor. She even won the award for Best Dressed at the ball. Who’s doing it like her?
Mika Salamanca as a Witch

A classic Halloween costume always does the trick, especially for Mika Salamanca. She welcomed us into her spell-binding world as a witch on her broomstick, along with her old-fashioned witch’s hat and jack-o’-lantern.
Tim Yap as a “Ghost Project”

Tim Yap was a master of wits at the Shake, Rattle, and Ball as a “ghost project” involving the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) flood control controversy. Amid all the fun and extravagance, he still made a statement and shed light on the real-life horror stories that Filipinos experience every day.
Maris Racal as the Undin

Who knew a monster in your bathroom could be this glamorous? Maris Racal was a vision in green this Halloween as the Undin, a water-dwelling creature from Shake, Rattle, and Roll III. The actress gave us an elevated take on the classic fictional character, complete with a bidet, a rhinestoned toilet seat, and a floor-length gown that resembled the Undin’s slimy skin.
Ryzza Mae Dizon as a Resume

“Kunwaring nagma-mall, nagdala na pala ng resume.”
Ryzza Mae Dizon brought this hilarious meme to life on Halloween. Nothing makes us laugh more than a well-thought-out, chronically online costume. “Resume” and “Ryzza Mae” already have a similar ring to them. Her dressing up as a human resume makes the internet joke even more memorable.
Michelle Dee as a Marionette

We love a queen who isn’t afraid to serve us high fashion on Halloween. Michelle Dee turned heads in her marionette costume at The New Nocturnals, which showcased her fierce and fearless personality.
Barbie Forteza as Taylor Swift

Filipino Swifties were in for a treat on Halloween as Barbie Forteza paid tribute to Taylor Swift and the pop star’s iconic outfits at her highly successful Eras Tour. Barbie wore a replica of Taylor’s sparkly bodysuit, which the pop star opened the concert with, as well as the flowy, bright green gown that she wore to perform her songs from Folklore.
Yeng Constantino as Chappell Roan

Yeng Constantino took us all to the “Pink Pony Club” this Halloween as Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, Chappell Roan. Can we expect our Pop Rock Royalty to cover one of Chappell’s hit songs soon? We’ll have to stay tuned to find out.
Jason Dy as Benson Boone

Halloween was definitely “mystical and magical” this year for Jason Dy, who dressed up as rising pop star Benson Boone. If Jason’s impersonation of Sam Smith on Your Face Sounds Familiar reached Sam himself, then we can only hope that his Benson Boone costume gets the same recognition.
Zeinab Harake-Parks as KATSEYE’s Megan Skiendiel

We saw double this Halloween as Zeinab Harake-Parks dressed up as her global idol lookalike, Megan Skiendiel of KATSEYE. Zeinab pulled off Megan’s “Gabriela” look effortlessly, down to the singer’s signature pink highlights and jade bracelet.
Bong Gonzales as BINI’s Gwen Apuli

Actor and content creator Bong Gonzales served us Pinoy Pop (P-pop) idol realness on Halloween. He transformed into Gwen Apuli of BINI, wearing her opulent silver outfit from the “Zero Pressure” music video. Gwen gave him her seal of approval, saying, “Para akong nananalamin!”
Kathryn Bernardo as Mia Thermopolis From The Princess Diaries

Kathryn Bernardo only needed a simple white dress, a set of headphones, a pair of shades, and a crown to have fun on Halloween as Mia Thermopolis from The Princess Diaries. She did Anne Hathaway’s iconic character justice most elegantly.
Kai Montinola as Glinda and Elphaba From Wicked
View this post on Instagram
Just in time for Wicked: For Good, Kai Montinola defied gravity on Halloween as everyone’s favorite pink and green witch duo, Glinda and Elphaba. As a natural performer who sang a few tracks from Wicked in the past, it must have been a dream come true for Kai to step into the characters’ shoes.
Michael Sager as Joel Goodsen From Risky Business

Michael Sager brought his killer dance moves to Halloween in a simple yet effective and nostalgic costume. He channeled his inner Tom Cruise as Joel Goodsen from the 1983 teen comedy film, Risky Business.

There’s always room for team efforts on Halloween. This year, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal and her family sealed the Honmoon together as the main characters from KPop Demon Hunters. She dressed as Rumi, JC Intal as Jinu, and their daughters, Lucia and Carmen, as Mira and Zoey, respectively.
