After years of persevering towards a big break in the Pinoy pop (P-pop) scene, we can finally say that everything’s coming up roses for ALAMAT. Taneo, Tomas, R-ji, Alas, Mo, and Jao have been basking in numerous blessings and opportunities lately, and we’re over-the-moon excited to watch them thrive. It’s high time our “6inoos” experience the artistic breakthroughs they’ve always dreamt of, both as versatile individuals and as a well-rounded team.

Just last week, for instance, Magiliws were delighted to hear that Taneo landed his first international acting gig in Raphael Eblahan’s debut feature film, Hum. In another outstanding first, ALAMAT will bring their multilingual excellence to France at the A Festival in October. And rounding out these back-to-back achievements is ALX: The Legendary Experience, their upcoming concert on November 8, 2026, at the New Frontier Theater.

These remarkable feats alone already attest to ALAMAT’s prowess in championing the multitudes of our history, culture, and upbringing. Line them up with the group’s unparalleled discography, and you’ll get a masterclass in storytelling that has blazed a world-class trail for P-pop in the years to come.

If you want to become a Magiliw in time to experience all these milestones with them, these ten songs are a great place to start. Here’s how each one has become a benchmark for their purpose, identity, and creative vision:

“Maharani”

Earnest. Culturally rich. Masterfully crafted. We could write full-blown essays about how “Maharani” rightfully changed the game for ALAMAT and earned its stripes as a P-pop gem. From breathtaking showcases of Filipino folk dances to blockbuster-worthy performances by Taneo, BINI’s Jhoanna, and Xerenade’s Migo, we’ll never grow tired of gushing over this love song fit for a “Great Queen.”

“LuzViMinda”

Filipino voices across all regions take a stand in “LuzViMinda,” a powerful anthem anchored by ALAMAT’s multilingual cadence and next-level star power. The group couldn’t have chosen a better single to lead their latest EP, Destino, and usher in blessings upon blessings that best highlight their artistic growth.

“Sinigang”

ALAMAT isn’t afraid to let music anchor their vulnerability, and “Sinigang” gets that point across effortlessly. A cinematic music video starring Joy Barcoma is the cherry on top of this sultry fan favorite track with a whole lot of heart.

“Dagundong”

“Dagundong” is empowering in every sense of the word. It’s the type of song you’d blast on the loudest pair of speakers you can find, making sure everybody can witness its large-scale impact and odes to Philippine history firsthand.

“Manila Dreams”

The road to a fruitful and fulfilled future has never been a walk in the park, especially for Filipinos from all walks of life who grapple with systemic conflict and disheartening everyday circumstances. But “Manila Dreams” finds a silver lining in our plight, portraying its hopeful message as an act of resistance that propels us forward little by little.

“Aswang”

Fearlessness is a power that ALAMAT has in spades. “Aswang” delves into the group’s experimental, heavy-hitting sound while portraying an eerily captivating fascination with the blood-thirsty beast from Filipino folklore.

“Say U Love Me”

For Magiliws, nothing screams yearning more than ALAMAT’s R&B hit, “Say U Love Me.” You’re bound to fall in love with their heavenly vocals at first listen, which ache with longing in every verse.

“Sa Panaginip Na Lang”

It didn’t take long for “Sa Panaginip Na Lang” to become the soundtrack to all the relationships we refuse to let go of even when they’ve already run their course. If you need an extra dose of feels, then Ashtine Olviga’s cover of the soulful ballad is right up your alley.

“ILY ILY” (with Lyca Gairanod)

In 2022, ALAMAT and Lyca Gairanod joined forces for “ILY ILY,” a genre-bending masterpiece that holds a mirror up to the enduring hardships of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Its eye-opening themes on cultural intersections and systemic injustice make a bold statement that resonates with Filipinos who tirelessly aspire for a brighter, more nurturing future.

“Kasmala”

“Kasmala” upholds the country’s longstanding fight for independence in a brazen, unabashed light. Beyond the song’s hypnotic hooks and punchy lyricism, it honors how our ancestors rose above centuries of colonial rule to protect our land, livelihoods, and voices, even amid ruthless attempts to silence them.
