Here’s why Emilia Clarke changed how she interacts with fans…

Emilia Clarke recently revealed in a podcast how a panic attack changed how she interacts with fans. In a Table Manners with Jesse Ware episode where she guested, Clarke was asked on air if she gets recognized by people wherever she goes. She answered “yes,” and then shared some of her encounters with fans.

One of those moments was while she was walking in the airport on her own and suddenly experienced what she believed to be a panic attack after working on Game of Thrones and Star Wars. She said that she could not describe how tired she was at that time and that she was on the phone with her mom while crying when a guy approached her excitedly asking for a selfie.

That’s when she realized that she didn’t have to do it and responded that she will just sign something because then, it will turn into a “truthful human-to-human thing,” as opposed to posing for a selfie and then goodbye. She says, “as soon as you sign something, you have to have an interaction with that person.”
