Gerald Anderson has joined the rescue efforts once again as Super Typhoon Carina hit the Philippines. The actor braved the chest-deep flood in Sto. Domingo, Quezon City, to rescue a family stranded in their home.

In a viral video uploaded on X on July 24, he was seen assisting a family and consoling a crying child in a pink raincoat.
“Anong pangalan niya? Sasama ang nanay mo, tara. [What’s her name? Your mother will come with you, let’s go],” he assured the child as he reached out his arm to carry her.
“Halika, hawak ka sakin. Okay, ako ang bahala sayo [Come, hold on to me. Okay, I’ll take care of you],” Gerald said as he carried the child to safety.

As of writing, the video has already garnered over two million views, with netizens praising the actor for extending help to typhoon victims. Some posts showed him transporting residents by a rescue boat amid the floodwaters and heavy rain.

In 2009, he also helped rescue victims of Typhoon Ondoy in Vista Real Classica in Quezon City. Gerald has been an active member of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary’s (PCGA) K9 Special Support Squadron since 2016. He was then promoted to Auxiliary Commander in 2021.
