WATCH: Full Trailer of “My Sassy Girl” Philippine Adaptation Released

The full trailer of the Filipino remake of the beloved Korean drama “My Sassy Girl” finally dropped!

After almost three years since it was confirmed that “My Sassy Girl” was getting a Philippine adaptation, Toni Gonzaga who will be playing the titular role premiered the full trailer on her Instagram account on Sunday, January 14, while also confirming that the movie will be released in theaters on January 31.

Toni will play opposite Pepe Herrera, who portrays a young engineering student (named Gyeon-woo in the Korean drama) who meets “the girl” at a train station and ends up having to take care of her when she passes out drunk. He subsequently gets involved in all her day-to-day activities and repeatedly gets humiliated by her in different situations, but eventually falls more and more in love with her.

“My Sassy Girl” is originally a 2001 South Korean romantic comedy film starring Jun Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-hyun. It is among the highest-grossing films ever made in the country.

The local remake was directed by Fifth Solomon under VIVA Films and TINCAN Productions.
