Punta Bulata
Another week, another story.. This time, allow us to take you out of town…. Hmmm a plane ride perhaps for about an hour in a place called the “city of smiles” and experience a weekend like no other. I’m sure you’ve seen us practically going everywhere each weekend, appreciating various sites, devouring on the best local cuisines, frolicking and enjoying life like any epicure should.
On this particular weekend though, I’d say is far different from the others because we also participated in a yoga retreat where we got to experience new things and also enjoyed very healthy dishes all weekend!
Before I tell you more about the FLOW luxe yoga escape, I’d like to introduce you first to this awesome place where I think people should never miss when they go to Negros Occidental.. PUNTA BULATA!!
PUNTA BULATA may be 4 hrs away from Bacolod- Silay airport but by the time we arrived, I realized it was all worth the long ride!
Let me show you around…
Punta Bulata: The Perfect Place to unwind when in Negros Occidental!
Time to check-in!!!!
our room had a veranda and was facing the sea! I believe we got the room with the best view! Thanks Tomas!
our super cute bathroom
Ayu Spa
infinity pool
After relaxing for a few hours, we were all called to meet up at the hall for the opening talk then followed by a Yin Yoga session with Monica. It was both our 1st time to try Yin Yoga and we found it to be very calming!

After that wonderful Yin Yoga session with Monica, we were served with these fresh coconuts!
and so the healthy diet started! Healthy yet so tasty! I enjoyed this meal very much! All the meals actually!
Punta Bulata: ever stunning any time of day
DAY 2
I had no idea on what to expect the next day. I just felt really eager and excited with the surprises waiting to unfold!
as our breakfast starter, we were each served with a shot of pure lemon which is believed to be very healthy for the body
my 1st ever time to eat only fresh fruits and a few pieces of toast for breakfast
enjoyed every bit of it nonetheless
After that filling breakfast, we went around to get a feel of the place….
we found an opened room so we went in and made ourselves comfortable…
the view from room 2-A
we also found this newly built Cabana which is good for 2
great for honeymooners!
comes with a posh bathroom
After roaming around Punta Bulata, we attended the Green Smoothie and Live Food Workshop facilitated by Monica and Noelle.
Noelle while making the smoothie
I really loved the healthy drinks they prepared
I’ll never forget this workshop for it awakened my consciousness about the importance of eating right!
A sample smoothie with Moringana Malunggay capsule in it!
That day, I realized that even healthy foods can taste really good!
and so the tasting part began!!! My favorite!
ingredients for Monica’s Cashew Dip! I can’t wait to make it at home!
Monica while preparing her Cashew Dip!
MMMMMmmmmmmm… like Hummus but more yummy!
After lunch came and it was time for the Danjugan Island tour…
hi all!
Frank proudly wearing his When In Manila shirt
a short trek to the bat cave
reminded me of the Sumaging Cave in Sagada
while crossing the bamboo bridge
at the sunset deck
It suddenly started to rain heavily so while waiting for it to cease, the group had a yoga showdown!

Danjugan island is no doubt another must visit place when in Negros Occidental. Too bad the weather didn’t permit us to experience its waters. It would have been really great to go snorkeling since the water was super clear! I hope there will be a next time!
We were just in time for dinner when we reached Punta Bulata later that afternoon….
Chapchae, Veggie Maki and Sotanghon soup
