Sofronio Vasquez was hailed as the grand champion of “The Voice USA” Season 26, making history as the first Filipino and Asian to win the competition!
During the finale, he delivered a show-stopping performance of “Unstoppable” by Sia and “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman.” Sofronio, who is on Michael Bublรฉ’s team, was declared the winner of the singing competition on Wednesday, December 11 (Philippine time). The two even sang a soulful duet of “Who’s Lovin’ You.”

As the grand champion, Sofronio will be taking home the $100,000 cash prize and a record deal with Universal Music Group. In a video posted by NBC’s “The Voice,” Michael asked him what message he would like to share with his Filipino supporters.
“To all Filipinos out there, maraming maraming salamt po sa suporta niyo (thank you very very much for your support). To my hometown, Utica, New York, you guys have been the best. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to go home to celebrate and bring the trophy,” he said.

In 2017, Sofronio joined the segment “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on “It’s Showtime,” where he made it to the semifinals. He also tried his luck on “The Voice of the Philippines,” but unfortunately, failed to advance in the competition.
The singer previously went viral on Facebook for his song cover of “That’s What Friends Are For” with fellow “Tawag ng Tanghalan” alums Gigi De Lana, Anton Antenorcruz, Jex De Castro, and Hazelyn Cascaรฑo, capturing the hearts of Filipino netizens with his beautiful voice.
