Here are the DOTr Guidelines for Commuters Amidst the Community Quarantine

If you still have to leave your home for work or important errands, it goes without saying that you need to stay as safe as possible. For starters, anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms, such as those with a temperature of 38 degrees centigrade or up, those who have trouble breathing, and those with a bad cough, will not be allowed into any transportation terminal. If you have symptoms, get checked at a hospital as soon as possible and stay at home.

For those who still need to commute, here are the Department of Transportation (DOTr) guidelines for land transport on social distancing and community quarantine.

Motorcycle taxis

Motorcycle taxi ride hailing apps are suspended for the meantime.

P2P Buses

Point-to-Point (P2P) buses from Ninoy Aquino International Airport until Clark International Airport and Sangley Airport are still ongoing, though they will be following the schedules, protocols, and procedures of the DOH and the PNP.

Taxis, TNVs, and Airport Taxis

No more than four passengers are allowed in the vehicles seated one seat apart. Multiple bookings are currently not allowed for TNVs during the community quarantine, either.

UV Express

No more than six passengers, including the driver, are allowed in the vehicles, seated one seat apart.

Old Jeepneys

Jeeps cannot seat more than half of their normal capacity per vehicle, including the driver, seated one seat apart.

Modern PUVs

Jeeps cannot seat more than half of their normal capacity per vehicle, including the driver, seated one seat apart. Passengers are not allowed to stand in the vehicle.

Public Buses

No more than 25 passengers, including the driver and conductor, seated one seat apart. Passengers are not allowed to stand in the vehicle.

Stay safe, follow these guidelines, and don’t be afraid to speak up if they aren’t being followed. In times like these, it is always important to be safe than sorry!
