“We strongly condemn the malicious and defamatory public statements of Ms. Fermin,” Dominic Roque’s statement began, as they were made “under the guise of entertainment news without any effort from her to confirm the same from Mr. Dominic Roque.”

Then, it clarified the controversies surrounding Dominic Roque, including an alleged condo unit. Although it confirmed that Dominic Roque is leasing a condo unit owned by Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos, it denied that the public official is a “benefactor.” According to the statement, Dominic Roque “is embarrassed and apologizes to Mayor Bullet Jalosjos and his family for being dragged into the public conversation because of the malicious, defamatory public innuendos of Ms. Fermin.”

Congressman Bong Suntay, who had also been alluded to as one of Dominic Roque’s “suspected benefactors,” was also mentioned in the statement. “Ms. Fermin made the innuendo that unreasonably casts doubt on the sexuality of former Congressman Bong Suntay,” it said.

“Furthermore, Mr. Dominic Roque does not own a Clean Fuel gas station,” it added. “In fact, all Clean Fuel gas stations are company-owned.”

Finally, it claimed that Dominic Roque and Bea Alonzo “never fought nor had a disagreement over a prenuptial agreement.”

“Reckless statements relating to the alleged disagreement over a pre-nuptial agreement between them are not only unverified but merely based on speculations intended to produce a negative image on the parties concerned,” it concluded.
