On Sunday, Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque announced their split in a joint statement on social media following Boy Abunda’s confirmation on his talk show, Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.
“We have mutually decided to amicably end our engagement,” the ex-couple wrote. “Unfortunately,” they continued, “some even confirmed our breakup without our consent.” Netizens were quick to assume that Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque were referring to Boy Abunda.

On Monday, Boy Abunda was asked about his thoughts on Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque’s breakup statement at the sidelines of his contract renewal with GMA Network. “There’s a time to speak and a time to shut up. Right at this moment, I’m choosing to shut up,” Boy Abunda told reporters, “but not for long.”

The King of Talk also acknowledged that there is “so much pain being experienced by the parties involved.” Thus, it deserves much “respect.”
We recall that Boy Abunda emphasized the dangers of speculations and asked the public to be a little kinder with their words on the February 6 episode of Fast Talk where he made the announcement. This reminder preceded the breakup statement of Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque, which was only released five days later.
