Similar to the 2019 adaptation of The Lion King, Robin Hood will “feature the characters as anthropomorphic, this time in a live-action/CG hybrid format,” according to an exclusive by The Hollywood Reporter. That’s not all—the remake is also set to be a movie musical!

Carlos López Estrada (Blindspotting, 2018) will direct the new film with Kari Granlund (Lady and the Tramp, 2019) onboard as the scriptwriter.

Preproduction has already reportedly begun but not other details, such as casting and scheduled release, have been confirmed.

Robin Hood will premiere on Disney+.
