“Sophia has been prioritizing her health and well-being with our full support and resources,” the statement read. “We look forward to welcoming her back as KATSEYE continues this next chapter together in 2027.”
The statement also informed fans that the 23-year-old singer will not participate in the North American leg of KATSEYE’s “Wildworld” tour to focus on her mental health.
In a heartfelt message posted on the Filipina singer’s Instagram story, she expressed her sincerest gratitude to fans for giving her “patience, grace, and understanding” during her difficult moments.
As she slowly but surely focuses on her mental health and well-being, she learned so much about herself: “Learning to care for myself and continuing to do that work every day, is something I want to carry with me as I grow both as a person and as an artist.”
“I’ve realized how much easier it can be to give to the people around you than it is to give to yourself. I’m learning that I can receive from myself, too,” she added.
Although she can no longer join in the remainder of the tour this year, she vowed that she’ll use her time to continue training and prepare herself mentally.
“My hope is to return feeling happier, healthier, stronger, more grounded, and ready to give you everything I’ve been wanting to give you. I’m holding onto that so tightly,” she told EYEKONs.
She also expressed how excited she is to share the same stage with active KATSEYE members Daniella, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae.
“How I miss you, EYEKONs. Thank you for giving me the grace to take care of myself. And please, take care of yourselves, too,” she concluded her note. “I love you!! See you soon!!!”
In August 2026, KATSEYE’s official social media pages announced that Sophia will be on a temporary hiatus to prioritize her “mental health and wellness.”
