You can’t talk about Davao without hearing about Malagos Garden Resort. After all, this resort is a staple Davaoeño kid’s field trip. Most of us grew up watching their bird shows, feeding animals, and learning about plants on class tours.
Today, it’s a fully upgraded destination where you can make award-winning Malagos chocolate, try their artisanal cheeses, and enjoy lush surroundings (the place is perfect for weekend staycations!). Malagos Garden Resort is both educational and relaxing. Since it has a bit of everything – e.g. nature, creativity, and food – it’s ideal for families, couples, and even solo trips.
Eden Nature Park and Resort
Location: Bayabas, Toril District
Best Time to Visit: Morning till late afternoon

Eden is a well-known spot that is great for Davaoeños and tourists alike. Like Malagos, it’s a place many of us grew up visiting; whether for family outings, school trips, or dates. Since it’s nestled in the cooler, pine-covered highlands of Toril, it’s perfect for when you’re feeling the city heat and need a breath of fresh air.
The park is home to many outdoor activities like fishing, sky cycling, and nature trails. They’ve also recently renovated their pool area and added a pickleball court, making it even more attractive for day tours or overnight stays. Whether you’re going with family, friends, or as a couple; Eden is a refreshing break from city life.
People’s Park Davao + The National Museum of the Philippines – Davao
Location: Palma Gil Street, Poblacion District
Best Time to Visit: Weekday mornings for fewer crowds

If you’re eager to learn more about Davao and the Philippines in general, People’s Park would be a great spot for you to visit. In recent years, the park has transformed into a meaningful destination—featuring installations, sculptures, and walkways that reflect local artistry and culture.
Nestled inside is the National Museum of the Philippines’ satellite branch in Davao, and the building alone is worth the visit. Designed by City Architect Clyde Eric Verga, it’s shaped like Davao’s iconic fruit, the durian.
The museum houses regional cultural and historical exhibits that give you a deeper appreciation of Mindanaoan heritage. And yes, the entrance is completely free. The appreciation you’ll walk away with? Priceless.
Sploop Virtual Reality Arcade

Best Time to Visit: Late afternoon or early evening

Sploop Virtual Reality arcade is a great summer visit because it’s air-conditioned, fun, and has a restaurant you can check out after trying a few games. Located at the Dacon Compound along Tulip Avenue in Ecoland, Sploop is where you go when you want to do something indoors that’s not a movie or mall day.
They offer immersive VR games ranging from zombie apocalypse runs to fantasy exploration to driving simulators. It’s a hit with barkadas and even date nights.
