The heartbreak anthem landed a “Best Song Asia” nomination at MAJ, competing with other nominees like HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” WOODZ’s “Drowning, PLAVE’s “Dash (all from South Korea), and Silet Open Up’s “Tabola Bale” (Indonesia).

Prior to the announcement of the official nominees, Filipino acts Earl Agustin and Dionela were also in contention, following their standout tracks “Tibok” and “Marilag,” respectively. This highlights how Filipino music is beginning to make a bigger impact on the global music scene.

Cup of Joe’s “Multo” became the first entry by a Filipino artist on the Billboard Global 200, where it reached the 80th spot. The song also held the top spot for 27 consecutive weeks in Billboard Philippines’ Hot 100—the longest song topping in the chart’s history.

Moreover, it won Song of the Year at the first-ever Filipino Music Awards 2025 and became the most-streamed OPM song of all time on Spotify.

Established in 2025, Music Awards Japan is Japan’s premier international music awards platform that recognizes and honors Asian music worldwide.

Starting April 30 until May 20, fans can vote through Best of Listeners’ Choice in collaboration with Spotify, where they can discover the nominees and support their favorite local artists.
