When in Manila, plenty of artists strive to help the Philippines make a mark in the international arena. With this in mind,ย Club Filipino-HK (CFHK) — a social, non-profit association of Filipino Residents and Migrant Workers in Hong Kong– has decided to help us Filipinos in our pursuit of recognition.
So here was CFHKโs call to arms. The association felt that it was high time for young Filipino visual artists to exhibit their work at CFHK’s 2013 Charity Ball “Mystique: Black & Purple” at the Helena May Grand Hall, Central, Hong Kong on November 16, 2013. They called on artists under 30 to join back in July and announced the finalists in August.
Interestingly enough, the 12 lucky finalists are some of the more visible artists in the local art scene. And most of them have already garnered accolades over the years! The exhibit showcases the works of these wonderful artists:
- Robbie Bautista
- Margaux Blas
- Kristine Caguiat
- Ron Katagiri
- Egon Layson
- Jackie Lozano
- Feanne
- Lei Melendres
- Vaughn Pinpin
- Ku Romillo
- Harinam Tibon
- Chalk Zaldivar
