Thee inaugural Orchard Road Fashion Week (ORFW) was held from August 12 to 16, 2026, at SCAPE’s Ground Theatre in Singapore. Across five days, the event brought together 40 brands from Singapore and around the world for 25 runway shows, presenting a diverse mix of streetwear, contemporary fashion, experimental design, and couture.

Three Philippine brands and artists were also invited to participate in the fashion shows: Swash Originals by Jeth Torres, Milkwear by Carlo Chu, and Dell Morales. The Filipino creatives showcased their respective collections, each highlighting their distinct creative styles and perspectives on an international stage.
Led by Filipino executive and creative director Sky Alfonso and organized by the team behind Orchard Road Fashion, ORFW was created to strengthen the visibility of Singapore’s fashion scene while providing emerging and established designers with opportunities for exposure, discovery, and cross-cultural exchange.

More than a series of runway shows, ORFW brought together diverse creative voices from across the region and beyond. For Swash Originals, Milkwear, and Dell Morales, the event marked a meaningful opportunity to bring contemporary Filipino creativity to an international audience.
About the brands
Swash Originals is an independent Filipino creative brand founded by graphic designer Jeth Torres in 2015. The brand is rooted in dark aesthetics, hip-hop culture, Philippine mysticism, and Filipino heritage, expressed through typography and calligraphy.
Dell Morales isn’t just a brand—it’s a person. Founded by Wendell Buenaventura, a self-taught independent designer from the Philippines, the label frequently incorporates denim to create avant-garde looks. Driven by an explosion of ideas despite a lack of formal fashion training and initial resources, Buenaventura became resourceful by necessity, starting with upcycled garments made from old clothes and stitching his way forward until he could afford fresh fabrics.

Milkwear is a Filipino contemporary streetwear brand founded by Carlo Chu in 2020. Known for its playful, optimistic, and nostalgic design language, the brand calls its approach “Fresh Streetwear”—everyday clothing brought to life through color, storytelling, and a childlike sense of wonder.
Born during the pandemic from a desire to create something positive in an uncertain time, Milkwear has grown into a community-driven label that celebrates individuality, inclusivity, and self-expression. Its pieces are designed to feel distinctive yet highly wearable, guided by the belief that fashion can be creative, accessible, and joyful.
Collection descriptions
Swash Originals
Rooted in traditional Filipino attire and the visual language of mob movies, the collection reinterprets these influences through modern everyday wear. It explores the relationship between heritage and contemporary identity, bringing together familiar silhouettes and cultural references in a relaxed, modern expression of Filipino style.

The collection draws from the ease and versatility of everyday clothing while carrying subtle references to traditional Filipino dress. Scarves are styled in a manner inspired by the traditional pañuelo worn by Filipinas, recontextualizing the garment through menswear and suggesting a more fluid approach to styling and self-expression. Inspired by anting-anting (Filipino amulets), symbolic brooches and intricate details appear throughout the collection, reflecting ideas of protection, belief, and identity.
At the heart of the collection is the word pambihira, a Filipino expression with deliberately contradictory meanings. It can describe something exceptional or remarkable, but depending on tone and context, it can also express frustration, disbelief, or exhaustion. This duality reflects the complex nuances of the Filipino experience, where humor and hardship, pride and criticism, hope and frustration exist side by side.

The collection’s calligraphic graphics draw heavily from anting-anting vests—garments associated with Filipino folk beliefs that are marked with mystical symbols, prayers, and protective inscriptions. Worn by some Filipino revolutionaries and Katipuneros during the Spanish colonial period, these garments came to embody ideas of faith, protection, and resistance. Here, those symbols are reinterpreted through typography, transforming pambihira from a word into a visual expression of emotion, movement, and identity.
Ultimately, the collection reflects the contradictions of being Filipino today: overwhelmed yet hopeful, expressive yet restrained, proud yet critical, superstitious yet rational. Through clothing, symbolism, and language, pambihira becomes both a statement and a reaction—a reflection of the humor, struggle, contradictions, and beauty found in everyday Filipino life.

This collection is titled “Eat or Be Eaten, Kill or Be Killed.” It reflects on a world where some people will compromise their humanity to stay relevant, or force others to swallow the truth to protect their own reputations. Yet in an unpredictable industry, an unexpected predator can consume another predator, and prey can defeat prey. So who truly holds the power—the lion or the rat?
Furthermore, to become the best version of yourself, you must let go of your current self; otherwise, it will consume you until nothing remains except the nagging thought: “I should have.”
Milkwear
The “Under the Blue Skies“ collection is an invitation to step into the Milkwear universe—a world shaped by optimism, youthful energy, and positive vibes.
