When it comes to feeding a growing baby, every parent wants to make sure their little one gets the right nutrients every single day. The first 2,000 days of a baby’s life are the most important for their overall growth. To help parents give their babies a healthy start, Nestlé Philippines hosted a media event last July 22, 2026, at their Makati office to launch a new program called Tambalang Big Sustansya Sa Barangay.

This project is a mobile educational campaign by Cerelac that will travel to different neighborhoods in Metro Manila and Cagayan de Oro this August. The goal is simple: to make accurate nutrition facts easier to reach for everyday Filipino families.
During the launch, Nestlé Nutrition and Health Business Executive Officer Arlene Tan-Bantoto shared that while parents today can find plenty of tips online, all that extra information can feel overwhelming. She pointed out that parents deserve simple, clear guideposts they can trust so they do not have to figure out baby nutrition alone.

The event also featured insights from health experts Dr. Imelda Agdeppa and pediatrician Dr. Katrina Florcruz-Dacanay. Both speakers talked about common nutrient gaps among young children in the country. They explained that when babies reach six months old, introducing solid foods alongside milk is crucial to fill in those missing vitamins and minerals.
This is where the idea of combining homemade baby food with Cerelac comes in. Mixing fresh home-cooked ingredients with fortified infant cereals helps ensure babies get a well-rounded meal. Nikki Constantino, Vice President for Nestlé Baby Food & Mainstream Milk, noted that Cerelac aims to be a reliable partner for parents as their children start eating solid meals.

Cerelac has been around for over 160 years, starting as a way to fight childhood malnutrition. Today, its products are tested and proven to support proper growth for local babies. Each serving contains 20 vitamins and minerals, DHA, and healthy probiotics to support a baby’s daily needs.

Parents can find a wide range of options depending on their baby’s age:
-
For 6 Months and Up: Flavors include Mixed Fruits & Soya, Mixed Veggies, Rice & Soya, and Wheat Banana & Milk. There are also choices with no added table sugar.
-
For 8 Months and Up: Homestyle Meals are available in Rice & Chicken and Rice & Veggies.
-
On-the-Go Snacks: Nutripuffs come in Banana & Orange and Banana & Strawberry.
