Centimillimental Makes Powerful Manila Debut

Anticipation was high ahead of Japanese rock project Centimillimental’s first-ever show in the Philippines, and the crowd that packed Paco Arena on November 29 roared as soon as the concert began. It was a chance for fans to witness a rising name in the J-pop landscape as the project continues to branch out beyond Japan. At the same time, it marked a new beginning, with Centimillimental showing no signs of slowing down its global ambitions—especially after the warm reception it received in Manila.

The concert took place near the end of the first leg of Centimillimental’s world tour in support of their latest album, Cafune, released in August. The timing coincided with growing momentum for the project, fronted by artist Atsushi, whose emotionally driven rock sound and notable anime tie-up songs have gained traction both in Japan and overseas.

Centimillimental’s debut Manila performance opened with “Kimi omou yoru,” instantly prompting the crowd to scream and sing along. That same energy carried throughout the night, as the group showcased the full sonic range of its music—from high-energy rock tracks to stripped-down, sentimental songs that leaned toward balladry.

Atsushi took moments during the show to share his experiences in the Philippines, including praising the local food and acknowledging the audience’s overwhelming enthusiasm. He appeared genuinely moved by the response from the crowd.

Even after the show ended, fans remained outside the venue, calling out “please come again!” as the group departed—an unmistakable sign that Centimillimental’s Manila debut left a lasting impression.
