The De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde will host the inaugural Benilde Model Congress (BMC) from May 18–21, 2026 at its Taft Campus, marking its first student-led legislative simulation focused on Philippine governance. Designed to mirror the Philippine Congress, BMC provides a platform for student delegates “Honorables” to engage in policy-making, committee deliberations, and floor debates on pressing national issues. The initiative aims to develop leaders grounded in good governance, civic responsibility, and informed public discourse.

The conference will feature preparatory sessions, including a Sectoral Situationer with guest speakers from National Defense and Security, Social Equity and Inclusion, and Education. Participants will also undergo a Bill Writing seminar and a Parliamentary Procedure simulation, equipping them with practical skills in legislative drafting and procedural rules.
During the conference proper, delegates will apply these learnings in a dynamic legislative setting, debating policies, refining proposals, and navigating parliamentary processes. “BMC is not only a simulation, but a space for critical engagement,” the organizing team shared, highlighting its role in bridging theory and practice in governance.
As its first iteration, BMC marks a significant step in promoting student-led initiatives that foster civic engagement and leadership within the Benildean community.
