Blogapalooza 2013: What You Missed

“Blogapalooza is a community linking big and small businesses who have something cool to share to the online community of people who love to share. Blogapalooza is a blogger event on crack! Lots of giveaways for the bloggers and online community and a chance for big and small businesses to present their product / brand / thingamajig to hundreds of influential bloggers and online social media influencers.”

I was one of the few writers of WhenInManila.com who was able to attend the first Blogapalooza that happened last September 2011. So when I heard of a final date set for Blogapalooza 2013, I knew I had to go and attend.

Blogapaloozaย started at around 11 am with the ribbon cutting. Executives fromย GoNegosyo, AFFI, WhenInManila.com publisher and founder Vince Golangco, Gang I.T. Ventures Inc.’s CEOย Francis Simisim;ย together with Tim Tayag, Mikey Bustos, Bogart the Explorer,ย Jako De Leon and some bloggers were present at the ribbon cutting.

Since the whole Blogapalooza community empathizes with the provinces in the Visayas hit by Typhoon Yolanda, theย #Piggybank Movement was launched to encourage everyone to donate a minimum of P10.00. The aim of the movement is to raise P100,000.00ย by the end of the day to donate to World Vision for the typhoon victims. So the whole time, pink piggy banks were being roamed around the hall.ย

Blogapalooza 2013 happened at SMX Convention Hall at SM Aura, which was a way bigger venue compared to the first Blogapalooza that was held at Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street 2 years ago. Close to 500 bloggers arrived and enjoyed interacting with the booths of the big and small companies.ย

I found myself roaming the hall booth by booth to see what the companies have in stored for us. Some booths like the Mind Museum had bloggers answer trivia questions about the museum.

Others like Chooks To Go, Grab-A-Taxi and Lazer Extreme had games that definitely entertained and challenged the bloggers.

blogapaloozaWIM4Grab-A-Taxi gave away an new Instax to the blogger who was able to finish the game the fastest!ย Well…. I did my best.. BUT it wasn’t good enough! Better luck next time, Ivy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lulu nailsย were pampering bloggers with their nail art services in their booth whileย BYSย had bloggers try their make up products and gave away nail polishes for everyone who signed up in their booth.

Of course, there were overflowing food courtesy of Tempura Japanese Grill, Bounty Fresh, and Figaro Coffee. Plato Wraps, Chef’s Noodles and Gavin’s Donutsย didn’t stop giving away snacks for everyone in the venue.ย

This year’s Blogapalooza was jam-packed with bloggers and social media experts!ย
