The Emma Watson-starred Beauty and the Beast has made the list of the 10 highest-grossing films of all time worldwide. Beauty and the Beast’s worldwide box office total currently stand at $1.221 billion, with $497.8 million domestic and $724 million international.
Beauty and the Beast is the most expensive movie musical ever made to date, with a lavish production that cost $160 million. Within 10 days of its release, Beauty and the Beast became highest-grossing live-action movie musical of all time, surpassing Mamma Mia!, and the second-highest-movie musical overall, behind another Disney hit, Frozen.
Beauty and the Beast is a live-action remake of the 1993 Academy Award-winning Disney animated film of the same name. The live-action version of Beauty and the Beast features the original songs from the cartoon, plus new songs written by Alan Menken.
