There are so many places to visit in Palawan, but because there are many tourists, it can be quite hard to see the must-visit places.
I am actually from Palawan, but I had never gone to The Underground River because my DIY trips there always fail. It’s hard to get a ride; plus, it’s hard to book a boat from the port to Sabang where the Underground River is located.
As I was researching on how to get there again, I stumbled upon E-Philippines, which provides tours complete with environmental fees, permits, van rides, boat rides and food. I didn’t really know that it was possible to get a completely hassle-free package that way.
A van picked us up from the hotel and we were joined by a few people who were just as excited as we were to discover one of the Seven Wonders.
After an hour or so, we arrived at the port where we chartered a boat going to Sabang. The boat ride was breathtaking; the mountains and the waters of Palawan were clean and in their purest form.
Upon arriving at Sabang, you will step onto pure white sand surrounded by beautiful mountains and crystal clear water.
Then, you will make your way through the Underground River Park where the tour guides will accompany you onto a little machine where you will learn about the history and attractions inside the Underground River.
I had never seen anything like the Underground River before and I can’t compare anything to it. The ride inside the cave was mystical and it will surely leave you in awe.
You gotta watch out for the Cathedral, The Market and the real live snake!
Though the water is crystal clear, everyone is reminded to not swim as it can be dangerous. Besides, the area is not intended for swimning.
