Bamboo and Ely Buendia’s Silent Concert – 4 Reasons Why You Might Regret Missing Out On It

Bamboo and Ely Buendia’s Silent Concert – 4 Reasons Why You Might Regret Missing Out On It

Last May 8, 2014, two “firsts” in the music industry happened: Sony Philippines held the first-ever silent concert in the Philippines dubbed as “MDR Live” with its brand ambassadors Ely Buendia and Bamboo sharing the same stage, also for the first time, at the Rockwell Tent. The silent concert was the main highlight of Sony Philippines’ Music Deserves Respect Campaign for its MDR line of headphones. Here are the 4 reasons why you might want to bang your head on the wall for not attending the first-ever silent concert in the Philippines:

  1. You would have experienced music in its purest form without compromise.

Ever been to a concert where you could barely hear the singers/ the band perform because their voices got drowned out by the voices of the crowd singing along? You avoid exactly this when attending a silent concert. It was simplicity in its finest. There was hardly any stage design. No props. No gimmickry. Just Ely Buendia, Bamboo, and their music.

The artists were enclosed in a sound-proof glass booth where their music was exclusively heard by the audience through Sony MDR headphones.

2. You could have had a full experience of a concert with Sony’s latest line of MDR headphones.

Everyone was given the chance to experience the new range of headphones featuring Sony’s cutting edge design and the highest form of sound quality, High Resolution Audio, through the MDR models MDR-1RBTMK1, MDR-1RMK2, and MDR-10RC. The Sony MDR earphones cancel out all the noise that you could possibly hear. They give justice to the music so people could hear it clearly. The sound was captured so as to let the audience experience the rich atmosphere and immersive sounds that Ely Buendia and Bamboo created, with the audience hearing the music just as these artists intended it to be heard.

The impressive line-up of Sony headphones features top-notch sound quality, optimal fit and cutting edge design that immerse users into a comfortable listening experience that embodies the best of Sony to deliver crystal-clear and natural vocals with musical balance between all instruments.

The music of Ely Buendia and Bamboo took me to an entirely different universe. It was as if I was attending a private concert organized exclusively for me. I took my headphones off for a few minutes and I heard people singing along with the artists at the top of their lungs.

3. You could have watched Ely Buendia and Bamboo up close and personal.

If you’re part of the generation who brought those songhits (magazines with song lyrics) to school so that you and your classmates could have a jam session of Rivermaya and Eraserheads songs on your lunch breaks, then you would definitely know how big of a deal this event is! The whole silent concert experience was like watching Ely Buendia and Bamboo record their songs for everyone to see that these artists are not called icons for nothing—they sound exactly the way they do live and recorded.

Bamboo sang the songs from his debut solo album No Water, No Moon and covered hits like “Imagine” and “Thorn in my Pride”.

In the middle of the hit song Hallelujah, Bamboo stepped out of the booth and joined the audience, making everyone go wild.

Ely Buendia, on the other hand, wowed the Eraserheads fans out there with the top Eraserheads songs of all time.

4. You could have watched Ely Buendia and Bamboo take the same stage together.

To give the concert the grand finale it deserves, the highlight of the whole silent concert was when Ely Buendia and Bamboo sang their final song “Come Together” outside the glass booth.

To the ones who were part of this big feat in music history, cheers to us! As for those who missed it, let’s hope that we would soon hear good news from Sony about a silent concert repeat. This phenomenal concert absolutely left the crowd blown away and in awe.
