“Ballroom dancing is actually both an art form and a dance sport – beautiful to behold in the strength and grace it exhibits. Beyond dance and sport, ballroom dancing is also about courtesy, class and culture,” said Manila Hotel president Atty. Joey Lina. “This is what “Dancing at the Maynila” brings to you at the grandest venue there is.”

After the president’s speech some of the best dancers in the field of dancesport that ranges from Rumba, Samba and Waltz, graced the dancefloor. Their technique, sharpness and gracefulness awed the crowd while they were dancing.

Of course, being a dancer myself, I wouldn’t let it pass not to dance. I joined the crowd in dancing with different styles of ballroom dancing in my not-so-ballroom-friendly 5 inch heels. In the course of dancing, I was privileged to dance with the president himself!
