Baekhyun once again proved why he’s K-pop’s “Genius Idol” with his recently concluded show “Reverie.”

The Mall of Asia Arena transformed into a dreamland on October 18, 2025, as fangirls and fanboys dressed in their prettiest outfits in shades of pink and purple. Whether you went solo or came with a friend or concert buddy, the shared love for Baekhyun radiated throughout the venue as fans handed out freebies to strangers and exuded a vibrant and contagious energy that lit up the night.

The show started strong when he showcased his masterful vocals with songs “Young,” “Ghost,” and “Pineapple Slice.” Similarly, the energy was vibrating through the four walls of the arena when he performed the title tracks “Bambi,” “UN Village,” and “Chocolate,” which is one of the two title tracks from his most recent album, “Essence of Reverie.”

In between electrifying tracks and soulful ballads, the K-pop idol showed his youthful charm as he paused to speak to the audience. These fun and lighthearted interactions add a unique and personal touch to his Manila shows.

Beyond making fans scream at the top of their lungs, he also never fails to make them laugh. In one segment, fans chanted “Byun Pogi,” and he jokingly remarked that it sounded like myeondogi, which is the Korean word for “shaver.”

Having performed for Filipino EXO-Ls multiple times in the past, he also remained as appreciative as ever and fully aware of the loud, enthusiastic crowd his shows always draw.

“It’s a shame the concert was only for one day,” he said, sharing how much he loved and missed the Filipino crowd. “All you guys have to do is enjoy until the end of the concert.”

However, the screams were through the roof once more when he attempted to speak in Filipino by saying the phrases, “Nag-enjoy ba kayo (Did you enjoy)?” and “Mahal kita (I love you).”

As a fan who gravitates more toward his R&B tracks, one of the main highlights of the show for me was when he performed “Truth Be Told,” “Psycho,” and especially “Cold Heart,” which I’d say is one of his best songs. When “Cold Heart” was played with a live band, it was clear how deeply the fans (myself included) were captivated by the performance, even as we tried to capture every moment on our phones.

In contrast, the mood of the show turned bright and colorful when he performed high-energy songs like “Betcha,” “Candy,” and “Elevator.” With these performances, you could see how the K-pop idol effortlessly shapeshifts—delivering both moody and energetic tracks with such finesse.

As the concert neared its end, fans successfully pulled off their fan projects during his soulful performance of “Late Night Calls.” Of course, he reciprocated the love and effort by praising EXO-Ls for their impressive singing skills.

“The singing skills of our Filipino Eris are really good,” he applauded.

As the show reached its encore, Baekhyun chose songs that fans could sing along to while effortlessly showcasing his incredible vocal range. He was definitely feeling generous, performing snippets of fan-favorites like “Late Night Calls,” “Beautiful,” “Cry for Love,” “Dream,” and “Paranoia.”

“The loud voices of Philippine Eris, singing along with me, and of course, looking at your beautiful eyes looking at me—thank you,” he said.

“I’ll try my best to come back as soon as possible,” he added.
