Rachel McAdams has spoken up on why she didn’t join the recent ‘Mean Girls’ reunion. ICYMI, the cast of the iconic chick flick surprised their fans in November with an epic reunion for an ad.
The Walmart Black Friday Deals commercial reunited Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), Gretchen Weiners (Lacey Chabert), Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried), and other North Shore High School alumni. However, Regina George (McAdams) was absent.
“I guess I wasn’t that excited about doing a commercial if I’m being totally honest,” the Queen Bee told Variety. “I’ve never done commercials, and it just didn’t feel like my bag.”
“I would, of course, always love to be part of a ‘Mean Girls’ reunion and hang with my Plastics,” she added. “But yeah, I found that out later.”

Furthermore, McAdams will not be participating in the upcoming film adaptation of ‘Mean Girls: The Musical’. In case you also missed it, the musical adaption of the hit 2004 movie is also going to be turned into a movie, which is set to hit cinemas in January 2024!
“Tina (Fey) and I sort of dabbled with a few ideas, but it was tough to make it all work in the end,” she said. Nevertheless, she thinks that “the direction it went in will be fantastic.”
“I cannot wait to see it,” she remarked.
