LOOK: Rachel McAdams Displays Her *Natural Beauty* On a Magazine Cover

Rachel McAdams is the cover star for Bustle’s April 2023 issue! In the lengthy interview with the women’s magazine, the “Mean Girls” star promoted her upcoming film adaptation of the popular novel “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” by Judy Blume. It also highlighted McAdams’ personal life, including her role as a mother to two children and her philosophy on beauty and aging. “It’s OK to look your best and work at it and be healthy, but that’s different for everyone,” she stated.

The photos accompanying the interview feature McAdams in latex underwear showing the 44-year-old’s body after two children. Apparently, McAdams requested that the images be edited minimally, saying, “This is my body, and I think that’s so important to reflect back out to the world.” Daily Mail even pointed out how she posed on the cover “displaying her natural beauty, armpit hair and all.”

Furthermore, in Bustle’s “Rachel McAdams on the Advice She Would Give Her Preteen Self” YouTube video, she was asked about her advice to her younger self when she wanted to start shaving her legs. “Once you start, you can never stop,” she answered, referring to her mother’s advice and remembering how she rolled her eyes about it. She added, “Life is long, shaving is intense,” and then emphasized, “always have shaving cream, and then if you want to stop shaving again one day, that’s okay too.”

With her unforgettable performances in “The Notebook” (2004), “Sherlock Holmes” (2009), “About Time” (2013), and in MCU’s “Doctor Strange” (2016 and 2022), McAdams has notably taken periodic breaks from Hollywood. Now, she has returned to the industry with a nostalgic and nuanced performance in the upcoming adaptation, making it something to look forward to.

She also told Bustle in the exclusive interview that she felt like a “milking machine” during the film’s production pumping breast milk between takes, having just given birth to her daughter five months prior. Nevertheless, the costume designer even reportedly suggested that McAdams play the role of Margaret’s mother, Barb, without a bra–a decision that she embraced. “The great irony is Margaret just can’t wait to get into a bra. But I’m playing a kind of wild child, hippie artist mom [who] doesn’t wear a bra throughout the whole film,” she teased.
