The Food at Antojos Restaurante
Â
The dishes really show the creativity of Chef Anton as he presents his own versions of Pinoy classics such as the Jalapeño Crunch, which was largely inspired by the popular food snack called dynamite. The chopped pieces of Jalapeno hidden in the creamy cheese filling will surprise you, but in a good way.Â
Â
Antojos Restaurante’s version of puttanesca is the flavorful Tuyonesca with bits of tuyo on top
The aromatic Adobo Rice (120) that had us going back for seconds!
The extra tender Bourbon Back Ribs (P595) covered in sweet barbecue sauce packs a tangy and smokey flavor
Â
Probably one of his most unconventional dishes yet, Chef Anton presents to us the Strawberry Beef Tapa (P330) that has been garnering much attention lately after it was featured on a popular TV segment. Not surprisingly, it was good, but what really caught us unawares was how well the strawberry went with the marinated tapa. Strawberries and beef really should go together more often.
Â
Â
A dish that stays true to its name, the Creamy Pinakbet Pisto with Bangus Belly (P265) was made especially creamy because of the pisto sauce and young coconut milk. The bangus belly added a nice touch to this Pinoy favorite.Â
Â
Â
And of course, the famous Cheesy Beef Kaldereta (P510), which we were all excited to try.  The beef is cooked in tomato broth, smothered in light Mornay sauce and topped with cheese. The mere mention of the name would also make you want to go back after you’ve had some.
Â
Â
The dessert, a Choco Nut Turon (P150), was like a bittersweet reminder of the end of a wonderful experience. Served fresh and hot, the sweet and nutty turon went harmoniously with the vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup drizzled over it.Â
