Antipolo offers free cremation to residents who died from COVID-19

Antipolo offers free cremation services for people who passed away from COVID-19. In a Facebook post by Mayor Jun-Andeng Ynares, he tells Rizaleños that they will be opening this crematorium in Antipolo in support of their fallen brothers and sisters.

In the post, he says that Antipolo is blessed to have its own public crematorium amid the COVID-19 crisis. It has come to his attention (and other mayors, too) that service in private crematoriums are expensive, with rates starting from P20,000.

With this, he says that this crematorium in Antipolo is rendering their services for free. He also mentions that Baras and Taytay have already sent the bodies of their brothers who have passed away from the virus for cremation.

Due to the virus, many burial rites have been put on a hold. The WHO has also advised people to cremate the bodies of those who pass away from COVID-19 to prevent the spread of the virus.
