A Pink October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

When in Manila, everyone should be aware of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Last October 6, 2012, Project Pink, a support group for Cancer Patients and their family members launched Keeping a Breast Part 9 “Treasured Chest”. A photo exhibit of everything they’ve done for the past years.

Project Pink is an active cancer support group who conducts monthly lay forums, quarterly fellowships, home and hospital visits and cancer information campaign. With their mission: “Transforming lives of individuals with cancer.”, they provide free emotional support, education and hope for individuals with cancer and their loved ones.

Anyone can sign up and share their stories or support those who have breast cancer.

And they also launched the first all-women mud run, Triple D: The Down and Dirty Dash happening on December 1, 2012. This will serve as a culminating activity in time for the opening of the Breast Clinic at Asian Hospital on the 15th of the same month. All the ladies from all walks of life are welcome to join this event happening at Nuvali, Sta.Rosa, Laguna. They encourage everyone to run in groups and to come in costumes as they will be giving away special prizes to the ones with the best concept.

Registration is currently on-going until November 24! The best part about this is that part of the proceeds from Triple D will go to Project Pink! Now isn’t that amazing? You get to have fun and help at the same time!
