Shopping malls have always been at the front and center of Christmas festivities in the Philippines. Year after year, these establishments attempt to outdo each other with bigger and brighter decorations. But none of these designs are complete without the key centerpiece that embodies the holiday spirit: The Christmas tree.
The grander the better is the name of the game with Christmas tree decorating, and it’s the different creative themes that set apart each tree from the other.
This year, SM North Edsa brought winter to the North with a tree inspired by Frozen 2. Adorned in signature blues and silvers, the 45-ft tall Snowflake tree is surrounded by whimsical displays that will surely remind you of Elsa’s Arendelle.
The tree launching last November 8 at The Block Atrium was every bit as spectacular as the sights. Everyone was wowed by the renditions of Frozen’s greatest hits performed by Marynor Madamesila and Ballet Manila. The Philippines’ own queen, Pia Wurtzbach, also graced the launch and took pictures with attendees.
The magic does not stop there. SM North Edsa has a line-up of activities for the whole family this Christmas season. With a tree inspired by the hit Disney movie, it’s only fair for the main duo to make an appearance. Anna and Elsa will be visiting for a meet and greet on November 29, 30, and December 1 at The Block Atrium, while Frozen 2 merchandise will be available at the venue for some early Christmas shopping.
Christmas isn’t only for the kids, and there is a long line-up of events for the whole family. Here’s a quick schedule of all the activities waiting for you in the North this holiday season!

- Skygarden Live: Christmas Series Concert – December 6, 13, 20, and 27

- Performance by Ballet Manila – December 14 and 21
- Christmas Carols by National University Chorale – December 15
