READ: Netizen Narrates His Thoughts on Being a Daily Commuter

Before embarking to WAHMhood (Work-At-Home-Motherhood), I’ve been to several corporate jobs, and one of which was working at a call center.  Regrettably, I have encountered a lot of issues, especially the danger of traveling at night, so I had to postpone my corporate duties and become a creative entrepreneur.

Having said that, I became very hesitant to commute. Simply because of how horrible the traffic (crime) is nowadays.

7 Awesome Ways To Beat Manila Traffic (11)

Truthfully, the government has implemented a multitude of ways to resolve traffic in the metro. But, none of them were able to solve it, just yet.

Unless it’s a holiday, Manny Pacquiao’s fight, or another AlDub concert.

Still, the problem is prevalent. Traffic everywhere. The quality of life is not there anymore.

Evidently, this is how the Netizen feels, too.

John asked himself: “Bakit ako lang gising? Lahat ng pasahero tulog. Yun driver in-observe ko din. Papikit-pikit yun mata. Bakit? Umaga pa lang pero parang pagod na pagod na lahat. Ano nangyari kahapon?”

He was clueless. He thought why would these people sleepy when the day has just started? What went wrong?

So, he decided to analyze it as he was the only one awake.

Here’s what he came up with:

Dahil ako lang gising sa FX, I will have a micro-analysis of what is the current situation of our country or Metro Manila at the very least.

Bakit ako lang gising? Lahat ng pasahero tulog. Yun driver in-observe ko din. Papikit-pikit yun mata. Bakit? Ano nangyari kahapon?

I am a commuter. I take the route Antipolo-Ortigas Ext-C5-Kalayaan-EDSA-Ayala Ave (worst route). Dati basta umalis sa terminal yun fx before 6am, makakarating ako between 7-7:30am. Ngayon dapat before 5:15am umalis sa terminal. Doble (minsan triple) na yun travel time. Wala namang banggaan. Wala namang nagrarally.

Dadating ako before 7pm, kakain lang tapos facebook onti. And the routine continues.

Summary of my day (tsaka nun mga kasabay ko sa FX):
Travel time: 4-6hours (including waiting time)
Work: 9hours
Personal time: 3-5hours
Sleeping time: 4-6hours

Are you not frustrated? Is this what they call progress? To oppress the ordinary Filipinos working to boost our economy while the “investors” keep their profits? Do you feel dignified as a Filipino? They had 6years to somehow improve our mass transportation system. But no, most of the biddings and projects were halted. Why? Isn’t it corruption? What continuity are you talking about? Sige tuloy natin ‘to!

My thoughts exactly, John!

John is also a graduate of Landscape architecture from the University of the Philippines Diliman and when I asked if he was to implement a traffic solution, he eagerly said, “Make our city WALKABLE!”

Absolutely!

How about you, what would you implement to eradicate traffic? Do you have any #pampalipastrafficpost to share?
