5. Where to have dinner?
Anyone living within the radar of Wildflour has heard of it’s Kimchi Rice with Wagyu. Be it with my friends who have been complaining that they’re getting a few inches on their dress size because of it, my aunt who loves to have a glass of Merlot on the side of it. Yes, it’s a Kimchi Rice craze and we’re learning more about Wildflour that it’s more than it’s Kimchi Rice goodness.
Have a stroll along LP Leviste and you would see the dimly lit, beautifully interior designed Wildflour in Salcedo. Perfect to grab some sesame Bagels to bring up the condo or to the office. I would randomly go nuts about their bread selection in their other branch in BGC. Though I think the Salcedo branch is better since they have an open bakery-type which is really nice. Same goes here, go nuts, indulge, enjoy.
It is usually highly crowded in Wildflour to be honest, I’ve never seen it without a crowd. It’s also never rowdy as well. You can still get a glass of wine, relax, have a baguette. It won’t be a problem.
Grab some freshly squeezed juice. Whatever is your preference or liking, they have it here. If you’re craving for some yoghurt based smoothies or simple freshly squeezed juice, they’ve got you covered. They even have green drinks you can try. It’s a really good fit for health conscious aficionados. My parents are vegan and when we dine out, it would be very difficult to decide. Wildflour’s menu has a very wide range. We recommend you try their Blue Dream!
The Baby Mixed Green Salad with candied walnuts, mango and goat cheese. Very beautiful mix of crunchy greens with some tangy-ness from the cheese and sweetness from the mangoes. Perfect for a summer salad or a side to your robust meat, if you’re planning on ordering any. Their Roast Organic Chicken was such a delicious take to on a humble dish. With creamy polenta, it’s flavorful, balanced and healthy. The serving was huge as well. It could feed 2 people or so.
During my recent travel to Malaysia, first stop was duck. Duck on anything that could be duck-able. Haha! May it be a pot of soup, noodles, sandwich or on rice with some fresh herbs. I’ve never had a sampling of Duck like this before. It was prepared with finesse. It was very fresh and it was incredibly photogenic! Duck is a magnificent protein that we here in the Philippines don’t necessarily pile on our tables as often as we should. In my personal experience it was really difficult to make or everytime I tried it ended up tasting gamy and not too strong. I’m glad I’ve tasted proper duck!
I saved the best entree for last, Squid Ink Pasta which was formerly known as Squid Ink Spaghetti. Step aside, Kimchi Fried Rice, a new superstar is on the rise. I am not the biggest fan of squid ink. I find it too close to the ocean as I wanted my palate to be. But this version left us all clearing the plate before you can say Squid Ink! We highly recommend this.
Time for dessert. I am a really big fan of their coffee selection. It’s a thing that makes me ponder on the why there are still billions “high end” coffee chains out there who can only serve you sweet frappes and the likes. What am I talking about? Their Vietnamese Coffee and their Pistachio Latte. When you hear the sound of the grinding of Pistachio, you know it’s about to get real. Do not leave without trying these!
