Making it through a hectic week

Making it through a hectic week can be an accomplishment in itself. You made it! Truthfully. juggling work, school, family obligations, and social commitments can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling drained and exhausted. However, when you finally make it to the end of a particularly busy week, it’s essential to take a moment to recognize your resilience and hard work.

There are many ways to celebrate making it through a hectic week. It could be as simple as treating yourself to your favorite meal or indulging in a relaxing activity such as a massage or a movie night. It also doesn’t have to be grand or expensive! You can have uninterrupted Netflix binge-watching, or it could also be taking some time to reflect on the challenges you faced during the week and acknowledge how far you’ve come. Celebrating this milestone can help you build resilience and confidence. It can also serve as a reminder of your strength and perseverance, which can be helpful when facing future challenges.

Taking some me-time or alone time

Taking some me-time or alone time is important for everyone. It can be difficult to find the time to relax and unwind, especially when we have busy lives and responsibilities to attend to. When you do, whether it’s a trip to the salon or just a quiet evening at home, take the time to appreciate and enjoy it. Perhaps, drinking your favorite drink would suffice? In my case, I love dirty matcha, so I would visit places or order that whenever I get the chance.

For non-parents, taking some me-time or alone time can mean different things depending on your lifestyle and priorities. For example, for professionals, it could mean taking a lunch break outside of the office or going for a walk to clear your head during a busy workday. For students, it could mean taking a break from studying to read a book, meditate or exercise. For freelancers, it could mean setting aside time to pursue a hobby or engage in a creative activity.

Regardless of who you are or what you do, taking some me-time or alone time is crucial for your mental health and well-being. It allows you to recharge your batteries, reflect on life, and cultivate inner peace and contentment.

Capturing a child’s first few steps or words

As a mom of four, I have probably captured all of their milestones. However, looking back at those moments made me realize that time indeed flies and you can’t do anything about it. That’s why you have to slow down and appreciate those precious moments because those moments make parenthood so special. Showing these mementos help our children feel loved, valued, and acknowledged for their achievements. It also helps parents create positive memories they can look back on and cherish for years.

Good health

Anything that deals with health is scary. Honestly, annual exams make me anxious. I am always hopeful everything will turn out fine. So, when you receive the news that your medical exam results are negative, it’s natural to feel relieved. Take a moment to celebrate your good health and well-being! The news that your medical exam results are negative can be a huge relief, especially if you’ve been anxious or worried about your health. It’s a moment where you can take a deep breath and feel grateful for your good health and well-being.

Learning a new skill

Every day is a new day to learn something new. In my experience, it’s learning how to edit videos. I have zero knowledge of the video editing tool CapCut, but since needing it for work,  I asked my daughter to share a few tips and tricks! Whether it’s playing a musical instrument, speaking a new language, or mastering a new hobby, learning a new skill is always worth celebrating.

Getting a promotion or a new job

Getting a promotion or getting hired is always a milestone worth celebrating. Not everyone is given a chance to either keep or get a job nowadays, given all the layoffs worldwide. Just like my remarkable comeback here at WhenInManila.com, where I used to work before. I have been putting off this opportunity, so I did it when I got the chance! Oh, we celebrated! When you get a promotion or land a new job, it can be easy to focus on the challenges ahead. But take a moment to celebrate your accomplishment and acknowledge your hard work.

Overcoming a fear

I am afraid of traveling. I envy those people who can just pack their bags and go! However, allow me to share with you that finally, I overcame my fear of traveling. Last weekend, I went to Cebu. Alone. No fuss. No panic attacks. And, to top it all off, I went on a cruise with a few friends from Cebu.

We all have fears that hold us back from time to time. When you overcome a fear, no matter how big or small, take a moment to celebrate your courage and accomplishment.

Reaching a fitness goal

Maintaining your fitness is not easy. I have been trying to keep on track, but it’s so easy to fall back into old habits. Whether it’s running a 5k or hitting a weightlifting personal best, achieving a fitness goal takes hard work and dedication. When you reach your goal, take a moment to celebrate and acknowledge your accomplishment.

It’s all about appreciation

There’s a saying, “It’s better to have no sleep than not wake up at all.” It’s funny, but it’s true, isn’t it? Sometimes, we complain about simple things like lack of sleep or as simple as not having ketchup for fries. Honestly, I get easily triggered by these things. But I realized life is full of small moments that are easily overlooked. Whether it’s a beautiful sunset or a quiet moment with a loved one, take the time to appreciate and cherish these small moments.

Life is full of milestones, both big and small. By taking the time to celebrate and acknowledge these little victories, we can cultivate a sense of gratitude and joy in our daily lives. So, the next time you achieve something, no matter how small it may seem, take a moment to celebrate and recognize the accomplishment. You deserve it!
