Ladies, skin care is important — we’re basically taking care of our body’s largest organ. As we deal with different skin types, it’s important to find a routine that works for us in order to fight off those blemishes and acne.
There’s a reason Korean women have great and luminous skin — they place a premium on having a meticulous skincare regimen! But you don’t need a ton of products while you’re starting out — all you need are basic tips to keep your skin healthy. Here are five tips on taking care of our skin, in order to achieve that natural glow.
5. Ditch the highlighter from time to time.
While strobing is a much easier and lighter technique than the heavy contouring we have come to love in 2015, our favorite highlighters can actually clog our pores, giving our skin an unhealthy appearance and making it prone to blemishes. Let your skin breathe and skip the highlighter from time to time. On casual days, opt for moisturizer or serum. It provides a glow without the shimmer!
4. Never underestimate exfoliation.
Exfoliating four or five times a day removes dead skin cells on your face, giving it a supple, brighter appearance. For big events that require a full face of makeup, remember to exfoliate your face the night before.
3. Don’t forget to take off your makeup before going to bed.
While this should go without saying, leaving your makeup on as you sleep allows bacteria to breed on your face. Eeek! Take your makeup off with facial wipes, and use a makeup removing cream or liquid for hard-to-remove makeup.
2. Use a moisturizer with SPF before going out.
Make it a habit to wear sunscreen with SPF and moisturizing properties before going out. Moisturizing your face is important as it reduces the chances of acne and prevents dryness and irritation, while SPF protects your face from the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays. For a single product that provides all these properties in one, go for a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream.
1. Go for serums at night.
Night serums are meant to penetrate deeply into the skin, distributing anti-aging and antioxidating properties, leaving you a luminous glow in the morning.
