A while back in our lettering session in Commune, a woman said she came with us to find a creative outlet from corporate life. Our teachers shared that practicing it helps them maintain their ADHD. An artist became inclined to the art of crochet because, as described in her exhibit, the repetitive movements heals her soul. So don’t be intimidated if you want to try a new hobby this year!

5. Art can reduce our stress levels and release endorphins

…both in creating and consuming it. Looking at beautiful things makes us happy, but giving back to the universe makes us fall in love with the process.

Because you are expressing yourself so much. You’ll notice things you haven’t before in your self-exploration.

3. Physical changes come with the effects.

According to the Journal of Psychosomatic Medicine,ย the use of writing as a treatment for HIV patients found that writing resulted in the improvement of cells inside the patientโ€™s body and a better immune system.

That warm, fuzzy feeling of accomplishment after recording your song, or writing your last revision will give you a boost in your self-esteem. Or, just sharing an interesting story at a party.
