Here are five reasons why we think Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza, from Eat Bulaga’s kalyeserye love team AlDub, may actually REALLY be made for each other!
The accidental kilig!
We love how Maine just can’t help but smile while Alden is on the other screen! Her “very natural” and “halatang kinikilig” [Rough Translation: obviously giggling] expressions made way for the now phenomenal AlDub fever.
They met five years ago.
Back in 2010 when Alden Richards was still a Candy Cutie under his real name Richard Faulkerson, or RJ for short, Maine had her photo taken with the young actor. Talk about serendipity.
Even the stars say so.
Alden, birthdate January 2, is a Capricorn. While Maine was born on March 3, making her a Pisces. According to astrology, Capricorn and Pisces are “perfectly” compatible! Aiyeee!
They can both cook!
Maine is a Culinary Arts graduate from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, while Alden was known as the “Chef Boy Next Door” in Sunday PinaSaya’s kitchen segment. We would love to see them cook meals together!

Lastly, Alden Richards wanted to be a pilot, while Maine Mendoza thought about being a flight stewardess after graduation.
As Maine wrote in her blog, mainemendoza.com, “Back then, I already had a plan on being a flight attendant/cabin crew when I graduate BUT when I knew that airlines does not necessarily pick applicants who are Tourism graduates, I’ve thought maybe it would be better if I take other track instead (of Tourism), just for me to acquire different knowledge and skills about other Hospitality-related stuff.” On the other hand, Alden once admitted that his dad wanted him to become a pilot.
If AlDub didn’t happen (but we’re glad it did!) would these two still eventually meet on board in an airplane, (or even while cooking for guests in kitchen)?
Here’s a video of Alden doing Maine’s popular dubsmashes!
Cute, right? [fb_instant_article_ad_01]?
