5.) Â Celebration of Light
For three nights every summer, Vancouver lights up the sky with a dazzling fireworks display from three competing countries. All eyes turn to English Bay to watch the colourful light show and to bask in the beautiful Vancouver summer night.
 
6.) Water Activities
Want to do more than laze on the beach? Vancouver offers many water activities from stand-up paddle boarding to kayaking, fishing, and even renting a boat for a few hours. Not a big fan of saltwater? Vancouver’s got you covered with many outdoor swimming pools and crystal clear lakes for you to dive into.

7.) Pride Week
Canada celebrates diversity. Proof of this lies in the Pride celebrations that take place all over Canada. In Vancouver, Pride week begins in early August culminating with a massive parade and followed by street parties attended by many drag queens, proud queers, and supporters.
8.) Gorgeous Sunsets
In Canada, summer nights begin around 9 pm giving Vancouverites more playtime under the sun. Usually, the day ends with gorgeous sunsets making everyone flock by the water to enjoy the splashes of twilight colours and to soak it all in.

9.) Barbecues
During the summer, everyone wants a piece of that grilling action. Barbecues happen everywhere in Vancouver – beaches, parks, balconies, backyards, anywhere you can set up a grill because grilling and dining al fresco is always fun.
