You Won’t Believe What This Local Taxi Driver Does When He Finds A Cell Phone In His Cab

Most local taxi drivers would have sold a lost cell phone for a little extra money. Especially when the owner unknowingly dropped it and did not take note of the taxi plate number or any info on the cab.

Moreover, it’s easy for the poverty stricken drivers to blame it on the hard times, the economy and the dire need for more food for their family. So it really takes a lot for a taxi driver to be fully honest and return lost belongings.

Let me introduce you to taxi driver Ponciano Dumatay!

sumakay ako ng taxi sa QUEZON AVE.. mejo makwento si manong driver kaya nakipag kwentuhan na dn ako habang nag cellphone.. at pagbaba ko ng taxi di ko namalayan nalaglag pla cp ko..

pag check ko ng bag ko wala.. ginising ko agad daddy ko.. sabi nalang niya hayaan mo na baka di na mabalik un bili nalang ng bago wag ka na malungkot pero sana mabait un nakakuha..

ibabalik ko sayo telepono mo kasi sayo toh hintayin mo ko ihahatid ko”

inabutan ng daddy ko ng reward si manong tinangihan niya dahil nagsoli daw sya ng hnde sknya..
pero xempre hnde kme papayag na hnde niya kunin.. at sbi ni manong “salamat po boss” sbi ng daddy ko “ako dpat magpasalamat sayo kasi mahal na mahal ng anak ko cp niya at madameng mahalagang naka save jan”

kung tutuusin pdeng hindi na niya isoli cp ko.. hnde ko alam plate number nia,hnde ko masyado nakta mukha niya.. as in suntok sa buwan na isosoli nya.un iba nga jan nag eeffort magnakaw pa.. sya hawak na niya pero mas pinili niya isoli.. taas kamay ako sayo sir!

Graabeeee!hindi ako nagkamali!may mga taong mababait pa dn talaga! si pareng jesus na bahala mag bgay sau ng reward…

We took a cab at Quzon Avenue. The driver was really talkative and had lots of stories, so I had a good chat with the driver while I was using my cell phone. When I got off, I didn’t realize that I had dropped my phone, most likely in the cab.

I checked my bag, but nothing. I woke my dad up and he said to just let it go as the taxi driver will most likely not give it back. My dad recommended I just buy a new one. He advised me not to be sad and to just hope that the new person using my phone is nice and really needs it.

But I told my dad that I had a gut feeling the driver would return it as he was really nice.

We tried to call the cell phone, but no one was answering. After 30 minutes, someone called our number.

“Sorry, I didn’t know how to use your cell phone, so I had to find a guard to help me. I’ll bring your cell phone back. Just wait for me.” said the taxi driver to us.

When we met the cab driver my dad gave him a reward, but the taxi driver turned it down. He says he just did what he was supposed to do as the cell phone wasn’t his.

But of course, we wouldn’t allow him not to take the small token of appreciation. My dad even told him “Tanks so much! We should be the one thanking you as my kid loves this cell phone and there are a lot of priceless things and information saved in it.”

If you think about it, the taxi driver didn’t need to return my cell phone as I didn’t know his plate number nor did I even really see his face. It was really a one in a million chance that my driver returned this to me. Others out there even make an effort to steal these cell phones, but this taxi driver had this in his hands, and he chose to return it. I salute you sir!

Wow! I was not mistaken! There are good people in this world still! I’m sure karma will return an even better reward for you sir!
